Local hero nominated at Woman of Stature (WOS) Awards

In her first book 'Break Free', Ronèl shared her life story and the tools she used to survive and overcome different obstacles.

Renowned author and public speaker Ronèl Harris has been nominated for an award at the prestigious Woman of Stature (WOS) Woman of the Year Awards. Previously known as the Woman of Substance Awards, the ceremony honours and recognises women who are making significant contributions to the community and economy of South Africa.

Ronèl’s book ‘Break Free’ has impacted the lives of many women

This devoted wife and mother of three understands the importance of hard work and contributing to the lives of others. A self-confessed serial entrepreneur, Ronèl started her first business at the age of 22 and now runs four successful companies of her own. Success did not however come on a silver platter. Like everyone else, she has had her share of hardships and personal tragedies. A survivor of sexual, mental and physical abuse, she knows first-hand how cruel life can be.

In her first book ‘Break Free’, Ronèl shared her life story and the tools she used to survive and overcome different obstacles. She has since gone on to use her personal trials and tribulations to educate and inspire others. ‘Breaking Free’ inspires women of all ages to be unforgivably real and to strive for their dreams without question. Ronèl believes that sharing her story and helping others is a God-given task. “I want to share my story, not because it is unique, but because I believe that we all have a story to tell and an obligation to tell it. Your story is who you are. Your experiences and the valuable lessons you’ve learnt are the foundations you build on,” she concluded.

Her list of achievements and accolades include a Silver Award for the education category at the ROCCI/FNB 2016 Awards. Ronèl was also named the Roodepoort Record’s most inspirational woman in 2016. She is a true inspiration.
