Country fresh market vibes

MULDERSDRIFT – The first Ngwenya Country Market for 2017 kicked off to a popular start.

MULDERSDRIFT – Individuals from across the city enjoyed the comforts and interesting variety of stalls at the first Ngwenya Country Market for this year.

The market, which began last year, will continue to take place every first Sunday of the month. New vendors were introduced to the market and sold items from delicious Chinese dim sum, organic fruit and vegetables, hydroponic kits and hanging baskets, to succulent plant arrangements.

Popular saxophonist, Abbey Artico, entertained crowds for most of the day, while families could view glassblowing, the glass showroom and art gallery. Children participated in crafts and go-karting.

Visitors from Alberton and Pretoria brought their families and even set up a stall for the day. Picnicking, good music and locally brewed beer led to a relaxed and feel-good atmosphere, which lasted until late afternoon.

“There is more and more interest in the market as time goes by,” said public relations officer, Athalie Brett.
