Twins, twins everywhere

WILGEHEUWEL – Play Corner Nursery School is the proud school of four pairs of twins.

WILGEHEUWEL – Play Corner Nursery School welcomed four sets of twins into their classrooms this year – the highest number, ever.

Principal Iris Murdoch, said since they are a small school of around 50 to 60 children, it is quite remarkable for them to have so many twins.

Teacher and vice principal, Deidre Allen, teaches some of the twins in her class. At first, Allen said she was not able to tell the twins apart, but has since learnt the small differences in height or face shape.

However, it is not the first time Allan has had members of the same family in her class. In previous years, she taught the brother of new twins Kamsi and Kosi Nduka (5) as well as the sister of twins Alicia and Keisha Matahwa (5).

Twins Hlulani and Kulani Mashimbye (6) said it is fun to be a twin and nice to be in class together.

Murdoch said she is proud of the twins and all the other children.

Her main goal is that they all learn self-confidence and believe in their own ability to do anything now and in the future.
