Triple murder accused siblings in court today

ROODEPOORT – Siblings Marcel and Le Roux Steyn appear in court today in connection with the sensational murders of Hanle Lategan, Anthony Scholefield and Kevin McAlpine.

Steyn siblings, Marcel and Le Roux, the two accused in the triple Krugersdorp murders, will appear in the Krugersdorp Regional Court today (Friday 27 January).

The case was transferred to Krugersdorp during the siblings’ previous appearance in the Roodepoort Regional Court.

The siblings face three charges of murder, three charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping and theft. The charges are related to the murders of ReMax real estate agent, Hanle Lategan and finance brokers, Anthony Scholefield and Kevin McAlpine who were murdered in May last year.

Late last year, two of the original four accused, Christiaan Kruger and Fabian Luff had all charges dropped against them as there wasn’t enough evidence.

Roodepoort Regional Magistrate Delize Smith told the siblings during their previous court appearance late last year that they might also face a charge of racketeering. This could mean another 25-year life sentence if they are found guilty.
