Eagle House School in Poortview has benefited from the power of e-learning, which has become an invaluable asset not only to learners but also to teachers. It increases the quality of education programmes, engages children in the learning process and empowers teachers with world-class technology.

The school implemented Extramarks’ digital learning solution, including Extramarks Smart Class, from June 2014. As a result of using this programme, the school has seen an improvement in learner performance in matric exams, by 50% in 2015 and by a significant increase of 62% in 2016.

Country Head of Extramarks Education for South Africa, Tanay Kulshreshtha, said Extramarks offers the valuable benefit of anytime, anywhere learning, thanks to its personalised Extramarks O3 (One-On-One) learning programme.

“This programme brings the depth of imagination to life on the high-resolution screens of the devices, adds a new level of dynamism and helps stimulate the learners’ senses at any given time. All this aims to assist in increasing the pupils’ propensity to retain the information they are taking in,” she said.

The digital learning programme offered by Extramarks makes use of professionally developed multimedia learning content aligned to the CAPS curriculum. The programme includes interactive learning modules such as Smart Learn Modules, animations and Virtual Lab, delivered through Extramarks Smart Class and One-On-One Learning Programme with tablets.
