National Camcorder Day

Take out the camcorder and make some memories on #NationalCamcorderDay

20 January is National Camcorder Day, a day created to pay tribute to videography of all varieties.

Wherever you live in the world, chances are your country has a television show that manages to both delight and irritate viewers, all while making them feel a bit uncomfortable, as well as a little more self-confident. We are, of course, talking about programmes about home videos – sharing everything from embarrassing prom nights to dangerous stunts gone wrong. To make it more interesting, some saucy accidents and Great Danes dressed in cargo pants are also thrown into the mix.

To celebrate today, grab your camcorder and start recording! You might be a professional who enjoys shooting wildlife (with your lens, not a gun!) or an extreme sports fan who attaches the GoPro to your helmet before jumping out of a plane, or maybe you just like recording memories that can be cherished forever – from weddings and birthdays, to your son dancing like an Egyptian to the end credits of the Addams Family movie.

So get out there and get filming, then upload it to your YouTube or Vimeo and share it with the rest of the planet!

Use #NationalCamcorderDay to post on social media.
