National Dress Up Your Pet Day

Dress up your pet on #NationalDressUpYourPetDay

14 January is National Dress Up Your Pet Day and is observed annually.

Pets often become part of your family and this day was created to make it a special day for them, to celebrate them and also support the pet fashion community.

National Dress Up Your Pet Day was founded by celebrity pet lifestyle expert and animal behaviourist, Colleen Paige in 2009.

It is important to remember that your pets should be kept comfortable and safe in the clothing and costumes you pick for them. Some tips to keep in mind when dressing up your pet, include:

– Sit this holiday out if your pet does not like being dressed up

– Ensure the clothing or costume fits. Restricting movement or ability to breathe can cause injury or illness

– Avoid using loose or dangling pieces that could become choking hazards, should your pet chew on them

To celebrate National Dress Up Your Pet Day is simple – dress your pet up!
