Local authorities are still investigating an incident which occurred during the afternoon of 10 January, leaving one man dead. The victim was knocked over by a bakkie at the intersection of Ontdekkers Road and William Nicol Road, in Floracliffe.
The ER24 paramedics who arrived on the scene found the body of a man lying in the middle of the busy intersection.
Upon assessment, paramedics found that the man who had sustained numerous fatal injuries showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead on the scene.
The driver of the bakkie was also assessed by the ER24 paramedics and found to have escaped injury, although he was visibly shaken.
