Extremely urgent notice from Outa to Roodepoort residents

Do not sign for liability.

The Executive Director of Communications at Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa), Rob Hutchinson, has issued an important notice to residents in Roodepoort.

Here is his notice in full:

“So who of you live in Roodepoort? I visited the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court today to investigate the case numbers which are being sent out to the public via SMS. The SMS states that a summons has been issued from the Roodepoort court for failure to pay e-Tolls and a case number is listed.

As it turns out, the case numbers are real. Other courts listed in the SMSes are Meyerton, Pretoria, Durban, Thembisa, Johannesburg, Kempton Park and Palm Ridge.

We need to inform these communities that over 2 000 summonses have in fact been issued from these courts, but these are highly contestable cases which MUST be defended.

If the Sheriff does visit, please accept the summons without signing liability, and contact Outa immediately. A mass defense strategy is what will beat this”.
