The first Grade 12 class at Trinityhouse High Little Falls, all 27 of whom are now eligible to study towards a tertiary qualification, achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and 23 distinctions in the final exams.
Principal Lynne Davis said this was a great achievement and a “fantastic start for the school”. Amber Sleem was top of her class, ending her high school career with four distinctions. She wants to study towards a BA, majoring in English and History, at the University of the Witwatersrand. “I want to pursue [my] passion [for] English and History and hope to become a high school teacher,” she said.
Davis said the first group’s results reflected their hard work and dedication. She said their marks had improved even though they had all come from a variety of schools when the school opened earlier this year.
“We feel an enormous sense of accomplishment and wish [the matrics] well for their future.”
Five pupils completed the exams with two distinctions each and eight received one distinction each.
