Please help find Nala

Community urged to help find the Aube family's furbaby

What should have been a treat for Tania Aube’s furbaby ended in heartache.

On 21 December Tania took her four legged child, Nala, to the Dazzling Doggy Spa located in the Westways shopping centre in Helderkruin to be groomed.

According to a Facebook post from Tania, this was the first time she used this grooming parlour. “I took Nala to the doggy parlour hoping she would be in good care,  and was shocked when they phoned me to tell me she slipped out of her leash and ran out of the shop and is missing and we need to come look for her,” Tania said.

Nala is a Pitbull/Boerboel cross. She is tan coloured with white on her chest and toes. She has a little scrap on her nose. Nala is not microchipped and didn’t own a collar.

“All I want is to find her, I will do anything – pay a reward – what ever it takes to get my dog back. If anyone has any information or see Nala, please contact me on 073 779 1296” an emotional Tania pleaded.

Nala has been missing since 21 December, please help find her.

Naomi Alberts, the owner of Dazzling Doggy Spa, said this was a freak accident. “The place where the dogs are taken out, before going into the salon, is very secure. I think, because this was Nala’s first visit with us, she was a bit nervous. We used one of our leashes when we took her out of the vehicle, but when the owner of one of the neighbouring businesses opened the back door, she got a fright, slipped out of the leash, and ran for it – through the back door, past all the people present in the other building, and out the front door,” a clearly distraught Naomi said.

Naomi said they immediately sent some of their workers to search the area where they saw Nala run to before phoning the owner. “We explained to the owner that, if Nala heard his voice, she will recognise it and come to him,” said Naomi.

“I am so desperate to find her, I can’t sleep at night. I phone the SPCA’s – Roodepoort, Randburg, Sandton and Randfontein – on a regular basis. I also visit the one in Roodepoort regularly and have been to Friends of Rescued Animals (FORA). I have made posters and put it up in Helderkruin, Horison and even Little Falls. We are offering a reward of R3 000 on the return of Nala,” Naomi said.

Naomi urges the community to contact her on  079 909 3939 with any information on Nala.

“Let’s all work together to find Nala before the New Year so she can be reunited with her loving family,” an emotional Naomi concluded.
