WARNING: If you are one of the culprits, justice is literally ’round the corner!

Metro Police to take decisive action.

If you are one of the lawless culprits who disregard the stop signs at the T-junction of Wag-‘n-Bietjie Street and Mimosa Street in peak traffic, your days are numbered.

The Record takes its responsibility as a community newspaper seriously and has decided to take those who commit these grave offences to task, with the assistance of the Metro Police and our trusted cameras. (Please remember the Constitution provides that any person can film or take photos in public places and guarantees freedom of the press, and therefore we will not be intimidated by embarrassed transgressors).

Both Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar and Metro Police Region C Director Mike Smit are now aware of the problem and deem it unacceptable. Minnaar indicated that action is definitely going to be taken soon.

The Record has observed that most motorists on Mimosa Street refuse to stop, even when another vehicle has already stopped in Wag-‘n-Bietjie Street. We will therefor randomly post our cameras there and hand the footage over to the Metro Police if need be. The presence of the Metro Police can also be expected.
