National Cupcake Day

Share a cupcake with a friend on #NationalCupcakeDay

National Cupcake Day is celebrated annually on 15 December.

Originally, the cupcake was known as the ‘one, two, three, four cake’ because the recipe used to make cupcakes consisted of one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, four eggs, plus one cup of milk and one teaspoonful of baking soda.

The cupcake, which is a single serving, is convenient for serving and sharing. Today, there is a large variety of recipes and just as many flavours to choose from, making the cupcake a very popular choice for both young and old.

To celebrate today, use a trusted recipe, or if you are feeling adventurous, look for a new recipe online and bake a batch of cupcakes. Invite your friends over and share your cupcakes with them – together with a cup of coffee or tea.
