It is the festive season and while everyone is in a holiday mood, the South African National Blood Service wishes to remind you to not forget to donate blood.
It is a fact that the roads are much busier during this period and road accidents are a reality.
Donors are urged to donate blood during the holiday season as someone close to you might need it – not just any blood, a perfect match. Finding the perfect match, however, is not easy. It goes far beyond just blood type and that is why every donor is unique and special. Your blood could be one of a kind that will save a life.
You can join the SANBS BeThe1Donor campaign and motivate and inspire your friends to realise the profound impact they can have on someone’s life by donating blood. You can join the movement on Facebook or sign up at BeThe1Donor.com.
Westgate Donor Centre is open from Monday to Saturday and can be contacted on 011 768 0283. Their operating hours are:
– Monday 1pm to 16.30pm.
– Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 16.30pm
– Wednesday 8.30am to 6pm
– Saturday 8.30am to 3pm.
