Marthinus Pelser, 22, who stands accused of having murdered his six-month-old baby boy Deon in June this year, briefly appeared in court this morning via audio visual remand (AVR).
The case was postponed until 30 January pending the results of the handwriting analysis. The defence team asked for a transcript of the bail hearing which the court granted, but at the defence’s cost. The defence also asked for a copy of the docket, but this request was denied on the basis that the investigation is ongoing.
