Kick off the holidays in style

Bring your dancing shoes to the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens

Looking for the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon and kick off the December holidays in style?

To the Roots is hosting South Africa’s best loved music and artists performing at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens on 11 December. The artists will be performing in aid of the National Youth Orchestra’s Bursary Fund.

The line-up includes Shortstraw, Bombshelter Beast, Goliath and Goliath as well as the National Youth Orchestra and promises to cater for everyone’s taste.

The show will take you on a journey from baroque to boeremusiek, comedy to kwaito – with a lot in between – a new South African sound to be experienced live. Attendees are advised to bring comfortable shoes to dance in – something your feet will definitely thank you for.

The National Youth Orchestra‘s concerts are made possible by the National Lotteries Commission, the Department of Arts and Culture, the South African Broadcasting Company (SABC), the Academy of Sound Engineering and the SAMRO Foundation.

Tickets cost R150 per person (online) and R170 at the gate, with no charge for children under the age of 12. Tickets are available at Plankton.mobi or Computicket. Gates will open at 12 noon and performances will end at approximately 5pm.

Picnic baskets, as well as blankets, are welcome (no glass or alcohol). An on-site restaurant and tea garden – both serving alcoholic beverages – will be available.
