The National Hijacking Prevention Academy has just released an updated list of South African hijacking hotspots.
In the light of shocking statistics it is recommended that residents familiarise themselves with these locations. Between 2015 and 2016 there was a 14,3 per cent rise in hijackings, resulting in a total of 14 600 incidents. This boils down to an average of 40 cars a day – and one every 36 minutes. Half of the country’s hijackings took place in Gauteng.
