National Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day

Celebrate your talents on #NationalCelebrateYourUniqueTalentDay

Henry van Dyke said, “Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”

We all have remarkable talents that are unique to us and there comes a time when those talents need to be celebrated. Maybe you can whistle through your nose, balance an apple on your chin or say the alphabet backwards while belching. It doesn’t matter what your special talent is, 24 November is National Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day, your chance to shine!

Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day’s history is as old as mankind itself, for we have all had our unique talents since the beginning of time. Just think about the first person who had the understanding of how some minor aspect of the world worked – like gravity, or how clay came together with sand and heat to create ceramic. But, even those with less obviously useful talents should be celebrated, because their talents are also unique. Think of the jester – his biting wit and wisdom could cut through the pageantry of the royal court – making them see the truth of the matter without him having to lose his head.

Clowns, mimes and deep-sea divers who can hold their breaths for a long time – each of these talents are used in important ways – even if it is just to entertain and brighten the spirits of those watching the talent in action.

National Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day applauds the special spark within us – the thing that makes us fundamentally unique – different from the rest of the world.

To celebrate today, find your unique talent and share it with the world! Record yourself while performing your special talent and showcase it in a Youtubevideo, or simply share it with friends and family who have never seen this talent in action. If it is a physical talent that can be shared – such as physical art – create gifts for friends, family or co-workers.

Celebrate your uniqueness and use #NationalCelbrateYourUniqueTalentDay to post on social media.
