Avoid these roads: One dead and nine injured

Vehicles are still being rerouted after a taxi collided with a bakkie head-on this morning. The accident which happened on the R41 near Impala Road in Witpoortjie claimed one life.

Nine people sustained serious to moderate injuries. Vehicles had to be rerouted, which is causing heavy delays on Albertina Sisulu and Randfontein Roads, and on Corlett and Trezona Avenues. Netcare 911 paramedics worked alongside various other emergency services on scene.

All injured have been stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care. The driver of the bakkie was declared dead on scene. The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
