CKPS annual run a success

Road Race success

Constantia Kloof Primary School hosted its annual 10km Road Race on Saturday, 5 November.

There was also a 5km and 2km fun run for those who wanted to take a stroll through Constantia Kloof and support the school. There were more than 1 500 participants signed up for all three races, which made for a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
Medals were awarded to all race finishers and the cash prizes were equal for men and women. In the 10km road race, first place received R350 while second and third place finishers receive R250 and R150 respectively. Constantia Kloof resident Phineas Maseko was first across the finish line in the 10km race, in a time of 35.04. Randfontein’s Cornelia Joubert was the first women’s finisher in a time of 39.44.
In the 5km race, first place received R150 and second and third place finishers received R100 and R50 in prize money. In this race, youngsters Thabiso Phefo and Koketso Thejane were the first girl and boy to breeze through the race and finish ahead of the rest.
In the 2km fun run, Annah Motosola crossed the finish line first.
After the race, the various stalls were inundated with customers as they refuelled themselves.
