Social Crime Unit doing its bit for the community

The Roodepoort Police’s Social Crime Unit has been making their presence felt in the community.

This week the unit’s Constable Shumikazi Mbuli, sector manager Warrant Officer Gerrit van Deventer and DMS Security members visited Klapper Handjies Pre-school.

They were teaching the children about the police and their duties. Mbuli said to be visible in the community and work together for a safe Roodepoort are part of their duties.

“We also gave them colouring-in pamphlets depicting police, which build a positive image of law enforcement in their minds,” she said.

Earlier this month, Mbuli worked with various old age homes in Roodepoort and communities such as Matholesville and Sol Plaatjie, urging residents to build a positive relationship with police.
