Grow your Mo!

Get friends and family to sponsor your moustache.

It is not too late to get into the Movember action.

All you have to do to help raise awareness about prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide is to stop shaving your moustache today and get friends and family to sponsor you growing one. (To see how to get involved in the campaign, go to Movember South Africa).

According to the campaign, whose slogan is ‘Grow a mo, to save a bro’, too many men are dying young due to their ignorance surrounding the issues it is trying to raise awareness of. By encouraging men (whom the charity refers to as “Mo Bros”) to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatment, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family histories of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Movember is an annual event that was founded in Australia in 2003. Scores of countries currently take part in the campaign.
