Lubbe case postponed

Audio problems in court.

The case in which AJ Lubbe stands accused of murdering his father has been postponed until 5 December.

Due to audio problems it is unclear on which grounds the case was postponed. Lubbe had several family members and supporters in court. The family refused to speak to the Record. Upon leaving the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court premises, a visibly upset supporter defiantly took photos of the Record’s journalist.

Lubbe allegedly shot seven rounds of which four hit his father, Andries, fatally wounding him. The incident took place on Equestrian Road in Poortview. AJ, who owns a company that provides security services (bouncers) to, among other establishments, Hooters on Doreen Road, said in his bail application that he is the sole breadwinner, having to take care of his wife and two children.
