Honour our paramedic heroes

Over and above often risking their lives in the course of their work to save others, paramedics are now also becoming targets for criminals.

The non-profit organisation South African Paramedic Awards of Excellence (Sapae) is appealing to the public for help raise funds to honour these brave men and women.

Sapae was formed with the aim of celebrating South African paramedics for their excellent work, to remember their heroes who died in the line of duty, and encourage and motivate those who have been sexually, emotionally and physically hurt while risking their lives to save others.

Residents are asked to pledge by SMSing the keyword PARAMEDIC to 38008. An SMS costs R10 and pledges can be made until November. The donations will be used to host the South African Paramedic Annual Awards and also to run Sapae’s operational activities and programmes for the following year.
