Sarda Gauteng raises funds

RUIMSIG - SARDA Gauteng invites people to a very special fun and market day in aid of the centre.

South African Riding for the Disabled Association (Sarda), Gauteng entertained 50 people for a coffee morning at the Earth Centre on 16 September in aid of Sarda, Gauteng.

People had the chance to enjoy treats while watching children from Goudveld Senior School and Pathways, participate in their therapeutic horse riding sessions.

There was a selection of food donated by President Hyper Krugersdorp, Eagle Canyon Super Spar, Broadacres Super Spar, Woolworths Lifestyle Crossing, Pick ‘n Pay at The Falls and various Sarda Gauteng helpers and supporters and Hirsch’s, Strubens Valley, provided a wonderful Miele coffee machine, complete with operators, for the morning.

Sarda Gauteng said they are always amazed at how many big-hearted individuals there are who, despite the difficult recessionary times, are always willing to support them.

The raffle tickets sold well and winners enjoyed the wonderful prizes, donated by Tupperware, AllMyCoffee, Buco, Ruimsig Supa Quik and a supporter of Sarda Gauteng. Wayne Dale, an equine dentist, kindly donated his services and checked the teeth of all the special equine therapists.

Sarda Gauteng also invites residents to another fundraiser, the Fun and Market Day at the centre, on the morning of 29 October. This annual event will give riders the opportunity to show friends and family what they’ve learned and achieved through their therapeutic riding sessions.

There will be an arts, crafts and produce market for early Christmas shoppers, a supervised children’s activities area and a tea garden to sit and relax in, while watching the riding displays and enjoying something to eat and drink. There will also be a raffle with wonderful prizes; and a car wash by the Horizon Scouts Troop.
