We are grateful to our sponsors such as Mr Price Sport, Discovery Vitality, Dis-Chem and Blue Label Telecoms for assisting us in staging such an event.

More than 600 runners participated in the Heritage Day Park Run and cleanup of Len Rutter Park. Councillor Caleb Finn was on hand to encourage the runners and drop off gloves and plastic bags from Pikitup. The five-kilometre running route was reversed, which delighted runners and helped alleviate congestion on the route.

“The park run is dependent on volunteers and we’ve had a great spirit throughout.

We are grateful to our sponsors such as Mr Price Sport, Discovery Vitality, Dis-Chem and Blue Label Telecoms for assisting us in staging such an event. Kevin Vine and George Taylor were instrumental in ensuring the run went off without a hitch,” said event director Keith Norman.

The runners were also celebrating the 50th runs of junior Matthew Windowrth, Werner Terblanche, Ann Wysoczarsca and Felicia Williams. Edith van der Westhuizen was celebrating her 100th run.
