Florida Police’s tips to prevent becoming a crime victim

Never leave children alone in your car.

Although certain precautions residents can take to prevent falling victim to crime should be common sense, Florida Police felt the need to remind the public of some of the basics.

1. Do not keep valuable items within sight inside your vehicle

2. Do not park the car in the street

3. Check the doors after locking your car

4. Never leave children alone in your car

5. Do not leave mail in the post box for a long time

6. Make sure your doors and gates are properly locked at all times

7. Educate your domestic worker not to open for everyone

8. Be observant when leaving or entering your property

9. Report suspicious behaviour even if you think it’s not important
