A man is in a serious condition after having broken both his legs when a wall collapsed on him in Newlands.
It is understood that the man, believed to be 49 years of age, was working with others at the time.
It is believed that he used a sledgehammer to break down a wall. While doing so, the wall collapsed on him. The other workers came to his aid and removed the rubble that had fallen on him.
ER24 paramedics found the man lying on the ground in a serious condition.
He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
