The Eisteddfod is an event that promotes culture and the performing arts in schools. It gave the Lantern pupils the opportunity to improve their self-confidence and spread their wings in an environment outside the school.

Pupils from Grades 2 to 11 entered the Eisteddfod and were trained by the school’s teachers and therapists. All of them competed in the Afrikaans and English poetry categories.

The results achieved are significant for them as they were participating against mainstream schools.

Heloise Zeedijk, the school’s culture organiser said,

“We are super proud of these pupils and are looking forward to more culture with Revue 2017!”
