The mystery of the 25-year-old biker, Shannon Vaughn Powel, who went missing has been solved.
According to the investigating officer, detective Constable Duma, Powel perished in a motorcycle accident right around the corner from his house.
At about 1am on Sunday he and a friend allegedly went to a shebeen in the friend’s car. For reasons unknown Powel left the home again at about 3am, this time on his motorcycle, and was involved in an accident. The details of the accident and the reasons why his family was unaware of it despite it happening in such close proximity to the house, are not clear.
The accident will remain the subject of an investigation.
