Queen Butterfly receives royal carriage

KLOOFENDAL – The Queen Butterfly Foundation is finally on the move.

It has been about a month since the Queen Butterfly Foundation was gifted with a much-needed school bus.

Founder and principal of Queen Butterfly, Palesa Mofokeng said, “It has been amazing. Now we are able to transport our children properly and we have had a number of parents who want their children to join Queen Butterfly as a result.”

The foundation received a Nissan NV seven-seater for its first birthday, celebrated on 6 August. The vehicle was donated by Jeff van Rooyen, CEO of Uranus Investments and his close associates.

Besides receiving the gift of a vehicle, Queen Butterfly celebrated their birthday with a high-tea fundraiser at the NG Kerk Kloofendal, where guest speaker and founder of Women Inpowered, Mark Grobbelar, spoke on women’s choices in life-threatening situations.

“I am truly humbled by the enormous support my organisation has received from Jeff and so many other donors. It is encouraging that people of his calibre believe in what I aim to achieve and make the next step possible by helping us achieve the milestone of owning transport for the centre,” said Mofokeng after the handover.

“Now I can safely and proudly transport the Queen Butterfly children to and from school each day and drive my organisation to the next level.”

The foundation’s next step is to find a larger facility to accommodate more pupils.
