Suspects arrested with stolen goods

Suspects abandoned vehicle on Ontdekkers Road.

Four suspects were recently arrested, after stolen goods were discovered in their abandoned vehicle.

On Thursday, 1 September, at approximately 4.45am, the Florida Police Visible Policing unit responded to a report from Dunmar Security about possession of suspected stolen property. En route to the scene they met a security officer in a marked Dunmar Security vehicle who had already apprehended four suspects.

It is alleged that the victim gave the security officer the description of the suspects’ vehicle, a green Opel Corsa, and while they were patrolling they spotted it, standing on Ontdekkers Road. A search was conducted and a pick-axe, a silver gate motor clamp, a PC board and some electrical wiring were found in the vehicle.

The police questioned the suspects who admitted that they’d stolen the items found in their possession. They were arrested and taken to the Roodepoort Police Station, where they have been detained.

The suspects, aged between 21 and 26, will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
