Photos: Fifteen injured in accident at Florida Lake

Helicopter transported injured.

Fifteen people have been injured this morning (6 September), two of them critically, when a bus and a taxi collided at the Main Reef and Westlake Roads intersection in Florida.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, found a bus lying on its side while a taxi was standing in the middle of the road. Numerous occupants from the taxi and the bus were lying around the two vehicles.

On further assessment, paramedics found that 15 people had been injured, two of them critically. Paramedics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured women with advanced life support interventions.

One of the critically injured women was airlifted to a hospital in Pretoria by a private medical helicopter, while the remaining patients were transported by ambulance to various hospitals in the area.

The details surrounding this incident are not known yet, but local authorities are on the scene for further investigations.
