National Wildlife Day

Educate yourself on conservation on #NationalWildlifeDay

4 September is a day to learn more about endangered species, preservation and conservation efforts around the world, as it is National Wildlife Day.

Pet lifestyle expert and author, Colleen Paige, founded National Wildlife Day in 2005 to honour the memory of Steve Irwin, the wildlife conservationist.

The purpose of this day is to create global awareness and education concerning the number of endangered animals and their need for conservation and preservation.

To celebrate today, visit a zoo, aviary or marine sanctuary and find a way to get involved with activities related to wildlife.

There are many ways to get involved – you can participate in presentations or volunteer for rehabilitation services, for example.

There is something for everyone to learn.

Post on social media using #NationalWildlifeDay to increase awareness of this worthy cause.
