Motorists met by accident

No injuries as two vehicles collide at intersection

During the early afternoon of 1 September, a collision between an Amarok bakkie and a Honda Accord occurred at the intersection of General Pienaar Avenue and Gregor Street.

Wessel du Plessis, the driver of the bakkie, said he was travelling on Albertina Sisulu Road towards Krugersdorp. “I then turned left into General Pienaar Avenue and saw another vehicle at the Gregor Street intersection. I saw the driver look at me, and when I was right in front of him, he pulled off and drove into me,” he said.

The driver of the Honda, Agofure Kester said the accident ‘just happened’. “I was about to turn right into General Pienaar Avenue and did not see the other driver,” he said.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department will investigate the cause of the accident.
