Tshepang to celebrate women

Celebrating women with Tshepang

The Tshepang Programme for orphans and the vulnerable is offering women a treat in September.

The programme will be hosting its annual women’s day celebrations, but the men will not be left out – they are invited to join in the activities. Tickets can be purchased from the offices of the programme at a cost of R100, which will include a meal.

The programme starts at 10.30am at Princess High School. The first 100 guests will each receive a special gift. There will be special guest speakers who will be sharing their experiences of being raised by single women.

Funds raised from the event will go towards assisting the orphan programme which relies on donations and sponsorship to continue helping those in the community.

Director of the Tshepang Programme, Susan Rammekwa, said the day will be full of fun and happiness for those who want to help the programme and attend the event.

“The focus is mainly on women but men can come and celebrate with us.

There will be beauty therapists and a panel of women speakers who will impart their knowledge and motivation. We want to get the message out there that your circumstances do not always determine your future,” she said.

Dress theme for the event is all black with an African-inspired ‘doek’ or head-covering. There will also be a prize for the best ‘doek’ of the day.
