Win with Food Lovers Market Westgate

Another chance to win a R500 voucher

Did you know? Bite for bite, kiwifruits contain three times more vitamin C than an orange. This makes them the ideal fruit to eat in winter as they strengthen your immune system and ward off winter colds and flu.

Charles Finlay, store manager of Food Lovers Market Westgate gave us some helpful tips on how to select and store kiwifruits.

Look for kiwifruits that are large and plump. Place unripe kiwifruits in a brown paper bag with a ripe fruit such as a banana to ripen until its outer skin yields to gentle poking. Ripe fruit contains ethylene, which has an effect on the kiwifruit and speeds up the ripening process.

Store ripe kiwifruit in the fridge. They will keep for three to five days.
