Avoid stranger danger

In light of the recent Krugerdorp murders, where the killers’ modus operandi was to set up appointments with unsuspecting professionals, security practitioner Louis Grobler has put together the following tips for meeting a stranger:

· Insist on a public meeting place, such as a café or restaurant

· Do not meet in a secluded places, or invite strangers into your home

· Be especially careful when buying/ selling high value items

· Tell a friend or family member where you are going

· Take your cellphone along if you have one

· Consider having a friend accompany you

· Trust your instincts
