A man believed to be the serial rapist who has been terrorising women in the Fleurhof area has been arrested by Florida Police.
The man was arrested by a detective of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit with the help of a member of the community.
The description of the suspect matches descriptions given by the victims of other rape cases reported in the area. An identity parade will be held to determine if there are positive links. It is alleged that the suspect took a victim’s cellphone and that he was willing to show the detective where the phone had been sold.
He will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court today (17 August) facing a charge of rape.
