UPDATE: No answers regarding Flora Gun shooting

HILLFOX - The story behind the man who allegedly committed suicide is yet to be discovered.

Flora Guns at the Hillfox Value Centre was the scene of a shooting incident on 26 July, said to have been a suicide.

Flora Guns attorney, Anzebet Allardyce, said via e-mail, “The deceased in this case was an experienced and proficient shooter who had visited the range regularly.” Allardyce further commented that the incident was a suicide.

However, the police are unable to give or confirm much information at this point. Honeydew police spokesperson, Karen Jacobs, said the police have opened an inquest docket and the post-mortem results are yet to be released.

“The range has adequate safety precautions, inter alia, constant supervision by range officers, safety briefings and monitoring via CCTV cameras. The range has been approved by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications, accredited by the Saps and meets all legislated requirements,” Allardyce added.

Allardyce also made it clear that the range is not part of the investigation nor privy to the status of the investigation.
