Charles Finlay, store manager at Food Lovers Market Westgate, has shared some useful tips on the best ways to store potatoes so that they keep for up to two months:
· Make sure that you store potatoes in a dark, cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
· Keep potatoes away from onions. Onions release ethylene gas, which can make potatoes sprout sooner.
· Don’t refrigerate potatoes, because the starch will convert to sugar and the potato will be glassy with a
sweet taste.
