National Play in the Sand Day

Set up a small building, put the smallest child in and make them ruler of the new sand kingdom on #NationalPlayInTheSandDay

This is the day where the whisper of wind over your skin as you play in the sand, brings back many fond memories for us.

Your memories of experiences with this lovely little grain you moved by the billions, may be of the sandbox or building sandcastles at the beach while on vacation.

However you remember it, this day is all about playing in the sand!

Playing in the sand was originally about making artistic sandcastles and soft sculptures with sand and water but now it encompasses anything you do in the sand.

Many major beaches around the world hold contests for the best artistic works, and the beach is filled with busts of famous figures, immense sandcastles one can walk around and not see over to intricately moulded and shaped designs that take your breath away.

To celebrate get your friends and family together with some small shovels and pails and enjoy the creativity that flows from you. You can build sandcastles with sticks for bridges surrounded by a moat or bury each other in the sand the means in which you play does not mater, as long as you enjoy yourself. You can build the house of your dreams with sand beds for the ultimate comfort, or build a monument of someone or something you hold dear.

You can dig with the little ones and show them you to make a sand castle.

Write your names in the sand and let the water wash it away making a new canvas to start anew.

The choices are nearly as infinite as the things you can do in the sand and just as much fun.

Set up a small building and put the smallest child inside to rule the new sand kingdom for the day!
