According to Pikitup’s website, all its sites and services (household refuse collection, recyclables, bulk, dailies, garden sites and landfill sites) will be fully operational on Election Day (3 August) and Women’s Day (9 August).
Residents whose refuse collection days fall on these dates need to put out their garbage as normal.
All 42 of the City of Joburg’s garden sites will also operate from 8am to 12:30pm on these two public holidays.
Residents are encouraged to use these facilities to off-load green waste free of charge.
