Dagga merchant arrested

Man arrested for selling drugs

A man will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court this week on charges of possession of drugs. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested after Roodepoort Police received complaints about people selling drugs in the Central Business District’s Van Wyk Street.

“While performing their patrol duties, police noticed a man wearing black tracksuit pants and a navy blue top. He was approaching pedestrians and gave them something from his pocket. Police found this suspicious and decided to take action,” said police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo.

They stopped the suspect, searched him and found dagga in his possession. He was arrested immediately.
