Horizon View Primary’s Madiba Day

Pupils celebrate Madiba Day

The pupils of Horizon View Primary School have vowed to just be as kind as Nelson Mandela. The school was celebrating Mandela Day and arranged activities to commemorate the former statesman. The afternoon started with a speech from principal Claudia Sono, who told pupils to be the kindest children possible, so that they can improve Horizon View.

“We must always be kind, not just on certain days. We can make Horizon View a better place and not wait for teachers and prefects to tell us to be good and kind,” she said.

Her speech was followed by pupils reading quotes from Mandela. The school pupils and teachers then got together on the field and released black, red and white balloons.
