DThe lush lawns of the Discovery Bowling Club will see the top Gauteng bowls players taking each other on this weekend.
They will be competing to see who is the best of the best in the semi-finals and finals of the Gauteng Open Men’s and Ladies Pairs and Singles competition. The competition, which is hosted by Sables Bowling Association, has drawn more than 2 000 entries.
The Gauteng Open is the most prestigious event held annually within Gauteng Bowls, and is recognised as the largest entered bowls tournament in the country.
Play-off matches will be played from today (20 July) until Friday (22 July) at the Discovery, Florida North, Ruimsig, and Witpoortjie Bowling Clubs.
The semi-finals and finals will commence at 9am on Sunday (24 July) and will continue throughout the day.
