Ready the fires and prepare your potjie
MULDERSDRIFT – The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci) invites everyone to participate in a potjie-making competition.
The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci) is set to hold its annual Potjiekos Challenge at Ekudeni Exclusive Country Venue.
All potjies must be prepared from scratch on 22 July, and must be cooked from a traditional cast iron Dutch pot. Potjies will be judged on appearance, aroma, taste, hospitality and presentation.
The challenge is an all-day event, starting at 6am with an estimated end time of 8pm.
Coffee, tea and soup will be provided on arrival but teams must bring their own food, drinks, tables, chairs and other equipment. Each potjie entry costs R550. Special Rocci rates, with compliments of Ekudeni Exclusive Country Venue, are offered to those who wish to book accommodation.
