Residents were left in the dark last night (12 July) after an explosion had rocked the Gordon Road substation in Bergbron.
According to City Power spokesperson, Yunna Sheik, owing to a fault one of the transformers caught fire, causing extensive damage to it and the feeder board rooms. City Power is working on the problem and aims to restore power by 9pm tonight.
Affected areas include Florida Glen, Bergbron, Quellerina, Northcliff, Industria North, Delarey and Whiteridge.
