Make a difference this Mandela Day

Take the opportunity to browse through the opportunities and make your 67 minutes count.

Feeling stuck about what to do for Mandela Day, but still want to make the day count? Visit www.forgood.co.za, which is an online platform that connects passionate people with accredited causes.

To make a difference, all you have to do is log on to the site and respond to a real-time need in your area, or alternatively post your own offer and have an interested cause contact you.

Andy Hadfield, CEO of forgood had the following to say: “There are some fantastic causes doing great work across the country and all of them need help in one way or another, be it volunteer time, goods or services”.

Forgood is a central hub for individuals, groups and causes that describes itself as a social market place where skills, goods, services and information can easily be offered and asked for.

Their latest project is for Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July. “We have been assisting the causes on our site to gather specific, real-time needs for the month of July and put all of those requests into a customised search engine. This allows individuals and businesses to browse for activities in their area, field of expertise or interest and enables them to do something great on 18 July,” says Hadfield.

You can browse through forgood’s list of opportunities to make your 67 minutes count. Whether you sponsor classroom equipment, donate winter clothes or file tax returns for an NGO – the possibilities are endless.

You can:

– Volunteer you time

– Donate goods

– Create an offer
