#SABC protests to continue this week

AUCKLAND PARK – SABC censorship protests will escalate today.

Protests will continue for the rest of the week in connection with SABC censorship and the dismissal of SABC journalists.

The protest campaigns are being organised by civil societies such as Right2Know Campaign and SOS Coalition as well as Support Our SABC campaign.

Sekoetlane Phamodi of SOS Coalition confirmed that the South African Communist Party and SOS Coalition will be protesting outside of the SABC’s Auckland Park office tomorrow (6 July) from 11am to 2pm in support of civil societies against censorship.

Civil societies will also be gathering outside the Icasa office to support the SABC journalists who are currently undergoing internal disciplinary hearings.

National Media Freedom and Diversity organiser of the Right2Know Campaign, Micha Reddy confirmed the protest outside Luthuli House in Braamfontein. This will take place on 8 July at 12pm for all non-political members to show solidarity for the question of Motsoeneng’s appointment.
